Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper soaring above a crowded southern California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, finally losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Recordings shared online depict the aircraft beginning to twirl near the beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a staircase close to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters reported five individuals were taken to hospital including two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were harmed. Specifics on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.

The department said the helicopter was associated with an regular “Cars and Copters” charity gathering set for Sunday.
