Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered numerous engaging creations from small studios. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a hero that is actually a piece of poop attempting to travel to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is simple: just use a single jump button. Across one hundred fifty challenges, encounter boss fights and access a store to acquire outfits for your dung hero.

Time your jumps with caution, as a mistake requires starting over. Leap on air pockets to propel your character to new heights, traverse fragile surfaces, and touch switches to open new areas. Collect coins and use them on tougher game content as things ramps up.

In terms of design, the demo boasts vibrant stages and an amazing background music. The retro graphics with shifting geometric shapes could recall fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to think of similar titles where you control a dung character, video games often incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, fecal references appears a lot in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Despite its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already earned notable accolades, such as winning at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is ready currently on Steam, with the complete version set to debut on PC on November 19.
